Yeah, so, to further compound my failure to write, my web hosting service decided to switch platforms, which has locked me out of the Movable Type application I use to post this blog. Maybe I'll take some sedatives one night and describe to you my madcap adventures with the zany, and completely incompetent, people at iPower. The "i" is for "Idiot!"
So, there's this interesting schism between the past and future. The past writing still exists, being published by an older installation of the software. And now there's this new blog, published by the brand-spanking new Movable Type 4.0. I'm wrestling with merging the past and future. No, not the past and present. I don't believe there's really a present, because time is always moving, flowing into the future, particularly with writing. As soon as a letter or word appears, it's in the past. So, my struggle with my past and my future have become manifested in a struggle between old and new versions of software. There's something right and poetic about that, but I don't have time at the moment for poetry.
I'm also wrestling with understanding the future... er, I mean, the new version of Movable Type. For example, you can see the vestige of a thingy to the right that will display thumbnails of pictures on Flickr. Except... it doesn't. So, we're working on it.
I've also begun the process of pulling out the least sucky, most potential-sprinkled posts from the past. There's gonna be editing, and then, finally, the long process of soliciting rejection from the publishing world.
The important bit is, I am, once again, back. And this time, I have to make it stick, because my life pretty much depends on it.
